RAD 94 Hydrophobizer for gypsum products (liquid)

Characteristic

RAD 94 is a highly effective anhydrous silicone product based on polymethylhydride siloxane.

Application

It is for water repellent treatment of plaster, plasterboard and gypsum plasterboard wall fibrous building boards.

RAD 94 is added to the measured amount of water for the preparation of plaster. Add about 0.2-0.4%.

RAD 94 when applied in plaster / gypsum gives a noticeable reduction in water absorption in accordance with DIN EN 520.

The effectiveness of RAD 94 depends on the type of plaster, the water / gypsum ratio and the presence of additives, such as starch / cellulose or surfactants. That is why we can’t confidently recommend the exact dosage of RAD 94. It is necessary to determine the required amount of a hydrophobizer by experience.

Alkaline plaster / gypsum components can reduce the bulk density and water repellent properties of the plaster elements.

RAD 94 is not recommended for surface treatment of plaster elements.
