RAD 290 Hydrophobizer for concrete and stone

Characteristic

RAD 290 is a solvent-free mixture of silane and siloxane suitable for dilution with a solvent. The diluted solution of RAD 290 in an organic solvent is a high-quality general-purpose hydrophobizer for impregnation and priming of mineral bases and strongly alkaline substrates.

After application, RAD 290 reacts with atmospheric moisture or water contained in the pores of the substrate, with active components formed and alcohol released. These active components greatly reduce the water absorption of the substrate. After treatment, neither pores nor capillaries are clogged and the substrate retains a high degree of vapor permeability.

Application

RAD 290 is used to impart water-repellent properties to absorbent, porous supports and mineral structural materials, such as:

• Brickwork
• Mineral artificial and natural stones
• Foam Concrete
• Lime brick
• Fibroconcrete
• Mineral paints
• All types of concrete
• Mineral plaster

RAD 290 can also be used as a primer for paints used for outdoor use. RAD 290 can’t be used to impart water repellent properties to gypsum.
